Popular tour Happo-ike above the clouds
It'a time of summer mountain season in this year, and I would like to introduce a trekking course that can be easily and easily accessed.
I took my son's friend.
That is Hakuba Happo-one.
He is a nice guy who loves the outdoors from Oregon, USA.
After the 1998 Winter Olympics, the American knew the name of Hakuba.
You can also visit the Hakuba jumping area and enjoy it.
Actually, I quit my company and launched my own company in February 1998, and when I saw the Nagano Olympics, I was clearly reminded of my emphasis on team jumping, It is an important place for me.
Summary
This time, we will use the "Alpine Line", the easiest route which can be seen the Northern Alps.
It will be a course of about 5 hours round trip total time.
Head to Happo Gondola Station.
The elevation of Happo Station is 770m.
From here, take three lifts and go to Happo-ike mountain cottage at elevation of 1830m.
It will take about 40 minutes.
Fare
Alpine line, that's fare is 2,900 yen for an adult round trip and 1,750 yen for a child round trip.

Trekking
- Take the "Gondola Adam" and head to "Usagidaira" at elevation of 1400m.
- Transfer to "Alpine Quad Lift" and head to "Kuro bishidai" at elevation of 1680m.
- Transfer to "Grad Quadrift" and arrive at "Happo- ike mountain cottage" at elevation of 1830m.
Now, here is the start of trekking.
The journey to Happo-ike is about 1.5 km, elevation difference is 230 m, and it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes one way.
You should go to toilet at Happo-ike mountain cottage and after that let's get departed !
Don't forget to have water!
(There is only one toilet on the way to Happo-ike. 2nd Cologne)
On the way to Karamatsudake (2696m), the first trekking course from Cologne 1 to Happo-ike is popular.
Happo-ike is a pond above clouds at elevation of 2060m.
Regarding to mysterious sight, I forget fatigue for a while.
If you are blessed with fine weather, you can enjoy a superb view of Hakuba-sanzan in front of you.
Many flowers such as Nikyou-kisuge and Kobai-keisou near Kurobishidaira, and Chinguruma and Matsumushisou near Happo-ike can be seen.
Let's go slowly while enjoying alpine plants!
Notes
Finally, there are differences in the temperature of the plateau, so be careful of your physical condition.
At Happo Station, the weather in the mountains can be very different even in fine weather.
When trekking to Happo-ike at elevation of 2000m or higher, use short sleeves and long pants to keep up with changes in the weather, and prepare long sleeves in your backpack.
Also prepare raincoats and jackets in case of rain.
Don't make light of the mountain just because it's a casual course!
